Lacey (8 yo Tb) had been lame in shoes for over one year. She became so unruly when the farrier arrived that she had to be tranquilized for each shoeing. Her owner, Christine Meyer, asked me to pull all 4 shoes on April 14, 2006. She was a bit sore at first but I advised using Epic Easyboots and riding her anyway to improve circulation to the hooves. She was sound within one month and has remained so. In the picture above Lacey won the novice horse dressage class at Foxcroft in Middleburg, VA, October 2006. This was her first showing barefoot. Also, she's now a sweetheart when I trim her. She's never been tranquilized again.

Orion (15 yo Percheron/Tb cross) was rehabilitated by Paige Poss three years ago. He's being shown at hunter shows on the flat and jumping quite successfully. He's also trail ridden on all surfaces barefoot with no problems. This picture was taken at a hunter show in October 2006 and he placed 3rd out of 20.
