Sadie is a 2003 Belgium Warmblood that had shoes on the front that were impeding her lovely natural movement when we bought her. So I pulled the shoes and trimmed off the flares left by the former farrier and she immediately moved like a dream. Thankfully, she had not had years of poor farrier work so she has never been unsound. Sadie is my husband, Greg Scott's, horse. That's Sadie's right forefoot in the picture in the left hand upper corner, taken 6-28-10. Note how nice, big and round they are for a 16.3 hand horse. The video was a jump off at HITS Culpeper taken 7-7-10. They placed 2nd out of 23. There were only 5 barefoot horses at the show and we had 3 of them. One of the others won the Level 0's out of 30 some horses. UPDATE: Sadie won a 3'3" jumper classic at Gettysburg in August 2011. She had the fastest time of 35 horses in the 3'6" classic too and would have won it but she hit one rail in the jump off. She was the only horse at the highly competitive show that was barefoot.
