My name is Natalie Cruz and I became a barefoot advocate and farrier after my Paint horse, Boomer, was diagnosed with navicular to explain his mystery lameness. The traditional, very popular farrier I was using disappeared never returning my calls when he could not keep the shoes on Boomer. So in desperation I left him barefoot and we began our learning journey. I contacted a local barefoot trimmer who directed me to Pete Ramey ( www.hoofrehab.com), and Dr Strasser ( www.en.wikipedia.org/wikiHiltrud_Strasser) clinics so that I could learn to trim myself. After Boomer's successful rehabilitation to soundness, I began trimming horses for others in 2004. That's Boomer in the picture to the left, August 2006. He has been high point adult games horse at Nokesville Horse Society for 2006 and 2007. Boomer is now owned by 16 year old Janine Wellington who was high point Sr. Youth games horse in 2008.
